If you listen to the version he recorded 10 years ago they cut the second stanza out to make this version shorter. It's the same version though, note for note.

This was done for the opening night of the new memorial. That is when this particular video was taken. It wasn't really for football, it was for the memorial of the 3,000 people who passed away 10 years ago.
No actually this was recorded for the NFL special that aired on Saturday night. Not for the opening of the new Memorial in Shanksville PA. Jon did the same thing for the NFL 10 years ago.
I'll agree that the new version didn't seem as heartfelt as the new one & while it would have been nice if a new version would've been recorded at least he showed up to do something to commemorate the anniversary.
