Bon Jovi: David Plays a Benefit

This is kind of a sad story and hit home for me. My Dad died of brain cancer so. Unlike this gentleman we found out my Dad had a brain tumor and 11 days later he was gone.

Cancer Sucks.

So if any of you Dave girls are in New Jersey, it's a good benefit for a good cause.

Jeffrey Kinder, a longtime industry executive who has held sales positions with Toshiba American Medical Systems and Philips Healthcare, needs your help.

Around a month ago, Jeff was diagnosed with brain cancer. His friends have created a fund to help cover his medical costs and pay for living expenses. They've organized a concert next month to help raise money.

Marc Regan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Nationwide Imaging Services Inc., gives the details in an email to DOTmed News:

"This past summer we attended the bachelor party for Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan -- an event that was one of the highlights for me in 2010. That night I attended the party with Jeff, one of David's oldest friends and we met some wonderful people, and again at the wedding in August.

"But just four weeks ago, Jeff collapsed and it was revealed that he had in fact a severe brain tumor that instantly changed his life and that of his family and those who love him.

"Work isn't an option for Jeff for now or the next year, at least, while he fights this terrible disease.

"In order to help out Jeff's family, we established the Jeff Kinder Support Fund to cover living expenses and medical bills the insurance company does not cover.

"To raise money for the support fund, we are holding a benefit concert on January 9th, 2011 at Woody's Roadside Tavern in Farmingdale, N.J. from Noon to midnight!

"We have the Jeff Kinder Band as the house band, and special guests including the one and only David Bryan keyboardist for Bon Jovi and Tony Award Winner for Memphis the Musical!!!

Please call Marc at 732-803-0512 with any questions or suggestions..."

"The Bastard Child of Janis Joplin and the Stooges"
-Thomaxe, New York Waste Newspaper

"We love Tara Elliott. She's a great local talent soon to be an international in the upcoming future. She's been called "The Bastard Child of Janis Joplin and the Stooges". There's not too often you get a quote like that, that someone actually delivers. And she delivers."
-Keith Roth, DJ of Electric Ballroom Radio 95.9FM The WRAT, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, David Johansen's Mansion Of Fun.

"These days, Elliott can be found wowing audiences as part of the power trio Tara Elliott and The Red Velvets, a down-and-dirty combo whose raw sound and red-hot energy recall the days when trash rockers like the New York Dolls and their musical offspring prowled the streets of New York City."
-Alex Biese, Assoc. Producer of Asbury Park Press Metromix Jersey Shore

"Power trio Tara Elliott & The Red Velvets, who hail from Long Branch, invoke the raunchy mix of blues and punk pioneered by Iggy & the Stooges."
-Jim Testa, The Star-Ledger

"Her ability to hold the attention of hipsters, rockers and blues maniacs means mastery over the common social denominator button and most importantly, possible attention from the ever jaded music industry looking for something that’s not phony bullshit."
-John Pfeiffer, Contributing Editor of The Aquarian/The East Coast Rocker
